New Transfer Student Information
Congratulations on your admission to UC San Diego, and welcome to the School of Biological Sciences!
Transfer students who were admitted into a biology major at time of admission to the university are expected to register for the below information sessions, which are separate from your college orientation.
Please ensure your UCSD email address is set up prior to registration. Information needed to access all of the online information sessions below will be sent to your @ucsd.edu email account, either directly following registration, or just prior to the event.
Online Information Session
The online information session covers items you need to know before you begin your first quarter at UC San Diego. Topics include:
- UCSD's Advising Structure & Biological Sciences Advising Services
- Biology Major Requirements
- Academic Planning Tools
- Fall Quarter Planning
Students should review all presentations in the online info session prior to the start of enrollment, which will begin August 28th.
*Please note that it may take 24 to 48 hours after activation for the registration system to recognize your UCSD email account.
Unofficial Transcript Submission
Biology advisors will use unofficial transcripts to ensure your UCSD academic record is up-to-date and accurate, based on transfer coursework taken elsewhere.

Online Q&A Session
The Biological Sciences advising team will be available for a general online major question and answer session, should you have questions following the online information session.
Note, questions pertaining to individual student records and course recommendations will not be addressed during the session.

An online student enrichment information session will occur after initial enrollment for fall. The online session will focus on experiential learning opportunities available for Biology majors outside of the classroom.
