Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) Accommodation Information

The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) is responsible for determining accommodations based on the individual’s current functional limitations. Only students who have been issued an Authorization for Accommodation (AFA) by the OSD may be eligible for exam accommodations. The Division of Biological Sciences OSD Liaison will work directly with the student to facilitate all exam accommodations for undergraduate courses offered by the Division. The division adheres to Academic Senate policy to make accommodations.

Students must schedule their biology course exams with the Biology OSD Liaison. If the student decides to take the exam in class or if the instructor elects to handle exam accommodations directly, the Biology OSD Liaison is not expected to provide any exam accommodations.

Students are asked to bring their AFA letter(s) for all biology courses as soon as they receive them from OSD at the start of each quarter (by Friday of Week 2). Students can submit their AFA’s in person to the Biology OSD Liaison or electronically via email. Once an AFA has been submitted, students must submit an online Google Exam Request Form for each enrolled biology course. Our office requires a minimum of 3 business days to process biology exam requests. If students delay in submitting their AFA letters to our office, exam accommodations will not be guaranteed.
