September 14, 2005

The UCSD Division of Biological Sciences and the Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind at UCSD, in conjunction with Amylin Pharmaceuticals, are pleased to announce the first Grey Matters Lecture of the year on October 4, 2005 at the San Diego Natural History Museum. The lecture, titled "The Origin of the Human Mind: Insights from Brain Imaging & Evolution," will be given by Dr. Martin Sereno of the UCSD Cognitive Science Department. There will be a small reception at 5:30pm before the lecture, which will begin at 6:00pm. Dr. Sereno will demonstrate the latest results in mapping human visual, auditory, touch, and movement systems, and will discuss how humans differ from other mammals in our ability to produce and comprehend language symbols.

Please join us on October 4, 2005 for this exciting science lecture!

Grey Matters: From Molecules to Mind is a series of free science lectures geared toward the general public that explain the latest advances in our understanding of the brain-mind interface.
