List Information
UCSD Uses Electronic Wait Lists
Impacts ALL Students, Undergraduate and Graduate!
- If a class you hope to add is full, get on the Web Reg wait list during pre-registration
- Web Reg wait lists will be used by ALL departments from pre-registration through the add deadline
- The wait list sequence is first-come, first-served. Be sure to enroll during your appointment time!
- An automated computer program will move eligible students off the Web Reg wait lists and into classes as seats become available. It will run nightly through the end of the second week of the quarter
- The program will send messages to your @ucsd email about the outcome of add attempts
NO ADD CARDS ARE REQUIRED
*Seniors lose their preference if they enroll after their senior registration priority period.
Biology Lab Course Enrollment Information
- All lab enrollment limits are at the appropriate levels; the automatic waitlist system will continue to sweep students off of the waitlist into the class in the order they appear on the waitlist. You are able to review your record to see if you are enrolled or still waitlisted. You are also able to tell on the Schedule of Classes the enrollment limit and number of seats available for each section.
- The automatic waitlist system will continue to run (if a student drops the lab course, the next student from the waitlist will automatically be added to that section). The automated waitlist system runs each night.
- The quarter will begin and the auto system will stay in place until the first lab meeting.
- Students must drop the class before the second class meeting if you have no intention of staying enrolled.
If you do not drop, you risk receiving an “F” in the course due to attendance policies, or potentially a “W”. If a student drops a lab course after the second meeting, a “W” will be reported for that student. While it is the students responsibility to drop a course, the division may also drop students for nonattendance.
- If a student is not enrolled in the lab course by the morning after the first lab meeting, you are not considered enrolled.
- This process aligns with the waitlist process for lecture courses.
