The Intergroup Dialogue: Skills for Building Effective Multicultural Research Teams course provide undergraduates with opportunities to learn and practice essential skills for living and working in a diverse community, and to develop and practice skills needed to be a productive and culturally competent citizen in a diverse society.
Today’s employers want graduates who can work effectively in diverse groups. The Intergroup Dialogue course allows students to acquire this skill. The course is a highly interactive seminar designed to explore issues of race and ethnicity, identity, conflict, community, and social action.
The seminar uses readings, discussions, writing, and experiential exercises to promote self and group awareness and to develop essential skills for communicating effectively across differences.
