Recommended Proposal Submission Schedule
30 DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE
Provide to C&G staff:
- Agency name
- Title of proposal
- RFA, special announcements or forms, if applicable
- Identify beginning date, number of years, and due date of proposal
- Budget - list of personnel working on grant, materials and supplies, equipment (vendor quotes are not usually required), travel, other expenses (including publication costs, campus services and shops).
20 DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE
Provide to C&G staff:
- A rough draft of the proposal (including references, bibliographies, biosketches, as required by funding agency).
- Animal, human subjects, radioactive materials, recombinant DNA, biohazard approvals or protocol application numbers and effective date.
- Budget justification
- Letters of collaboration (if applicable)
Review and sign forms.
C&G staff will obtain Division signatures and forward to OCGA for review and approval.
C&G staff will inform PI of changes/corrections/suggestions from OCGA.
10 DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE
Confirm with C&G staff that everything is on track. Confirm that you will provide final version of proposal within the next few days.
3-5 DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE
Review entire proposal for submission. Provide final version of proposal to C&G staff.
C&G staff will paginate, copy and messenger the proposal to OCGA for mailing to agency. (These last steps can usually only be done by the C&G staff if above deadline dates are met, otherwise the PI's assistance and/or his staff assistance is required).
AFTER SUBMISSION
C&G staff should be informed as soon as an award or a declination of an application has been received.
