Once again the Division of Biological Sciences has a funding allocation available for use by Academic Senate faculty and their registered Biological Sciences graduate students to travel to other UC campuses or facilities for scientific research collaboration and study (NOT allowable for attending conferences either as a presenter/speaker or as a registrant).
TYPE OF TRAVEL COVERED: Transportation costs to/from another UC facility. Transportation is limited to domestic airfare and mileage (neither parking fee, car rental, taxi, nor accommodations are eligible for ICTvl funds).
HOW TO ACCESS: Call or e-mail Fund Manager, Ronni Russell (ext 44742; rrussell@ucsd.edu ) to secure a lien against the ICTvl funds for your trip as soon as you know your plans. Please provide date of travel, UC facility name, and method of travel expected.
Upon return from the trip, submit the receipts for MyTravel completion (faculty/project assistants complete this transaction) Please provide your grant index for other costs, if any, beyond the transportation being charged to ICTvl. Ronni Russell will supply the ICTvl index.
LIMITED FUNDS:
Because there is a fixed allocation, the funds are utilized by those
faculty who inform the Fiscal Operating Supervisor of their trips early
on. Naturally towards the end of the fiscal year, there is a smaller
balance and it may be the case that some requests for ICTvl funding
would then be denied due to a depleted fund balance. However, past experience
shows the funds have never been totally spent.
Safe travels to you!
